What stays in your browser

Characters you save to your shelf, your character profile template, starred names and your last avatar are stored in your browser's localStorage on this device. They never leave it unless you create a share link or download a file.

What is sent when you use AI

When you press an AI button (Forge, Write backstory, Paint a portrait and similar), the text in the form is sent to our server and on to the model through the Vercel AI Gateway: OpenAI GPT-6 Luna for text, Recraft V4.1 Flash for images. We do not store your prompts or results. Nothing is sent until you press a button. We keep a short-lived, in-memory count of requests per IP address to prevent abuse.

Share links

A share link contains the whole character, compressed inside the part of the URL after the #. That part is not sent to our server; anyone you give the link to can read the character.

Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics, a cookieless analytics tool, to count page views and see which pages are useful. It does not use cookies or track you across sites.
